Sri Gavimath was founded by His Holiness Rudramuni Shivacharya Maha Swamiji by the spiritual blessings of Sri Gavisiddeshwara, the 11th Peethadhipati, who meditated at the serene Malemalleshwara and attained divinity. As per the wish of 10th Swamiji Shri Guru Channabasava Shivayogi became the Peethadhipathi of Sri Gavimath, who later called as Gavisiddha. He achieved Shivayoga through deep meditation and attained Nirvikalpa Samadhi.”
